Large Print Edition

anim5 offers the following pictorial guide to making
Giant Books.
From Epic Fantasy to Dark Mystery,
 All you
need to change is the cover.

If a special spell is a major goal in your story  - or just a few pages of text, then having your gamers find it in a massive volume assembled by an “Otherworldly Secret Order Shrouded in Mystery” etc. might be just the ticket. ( especially if the lighting is right ). It’s not by any means a "quick and dirty" prop, but the dramatic impact of exagerated scale could just make the role play more fun, and definitely more memorable!

Some methods used to make these books can be applied to other projects as well. I would be curious to see other attempts at Massive books, particularly if the inner blocks were replaced with “Foamcore” pages. That would keep

them light enough to move easily and make them more functional!

I completed these props over the course of three nights in 2001, for
use in a children's theatre school. Anyone interested in
other methods of prop and scenery construction please contact me at anim5@anim5.com
If it's LARP specific though, your experts will always be 'The Mad Three'
